Faculty Association "Follow Your Dream" Scholarship News and Requests!

The FA "Follow Your Dream" Scholarship provides funding opportunities for all MCC students with a focus on those who are not only successful in their studies but balance their off-campus responsibilities such as multiple jobs, elder care, child care, housing insecurity, health issues, etc. as well.

Here are a few updates for this academic year:

1) Honoree Nomination: Each year, an honoree is named following nomination by collegues.  Honorees can be current or retired FA members who have shown dedication to student success and the MCC community.  If you would like to nominate an honoree, please send an email including the nominee's name, position, and a brief description of their contributions to MCC to jbarone@monroecc.edu by October 22nd!

2) Committee Members Needed:  We have had several of our committee members retire and would welcome an additional member or two!  Please contact jbarone@monroecc.edu if you are interested in learning more about this committee's work.

3) Holiday Baskets Fundraiser:  Keep an eye out later in the semester for opportunities to contribute to this scholarship and win a basket of winter goodies (movie gift cards, coffee, tea, fancy soups, chocolates, candles, etc.).

4) Student Applications:  Students apply for this scholarship during the spring semester to be used for either summer classes or classes during the following fall semester.
