Mental Health First Aid Training

MCC's Counseling, Disability & Health Services department is committed to reducing mental health stigma across our campus and is excited to offer free Mental Health First Aid Training to those interested in attending.  This training will provide our campus community with the necessary skills to identify, understand, and respond to individuals that present with signs of mental health illness(es) and/or substance use disorder(s).

Mental Health First Aid training is an eight-hour course that requires participants to complete an online module and attend instructor-led sessions.  There is no cost to attend this training as funding was set aside from the Higher Education Emergency Relief (HEERF) that supports mental health initiatives on campuses.

There are two sessions currently scheduled.  The first 8-hour course will be offered in February and will be split into two 4-hour sessions, fully online.  The second 8-hour course will be offered in March and will be split into two 4-hour sessions, fully online. All instructor-led sessions will be hosted via Zoom. After completion of the training, attendees will receive a certificate of completion.  Class sizes are limited to 25 attendees. Specific dates and times are provided below:

OPTION #1 – February’s 8-hour Mental Health First Aid Training:

  • Thursday, February 23rd 9am to 1pm & Friday, February 24th 9am to 1pm.

OPTION #2 – March’s 8-hour Mental Health First Aid Training:
