Mileage Reimbursement

There have been many questions regarding mileage reimbursement and the process behind how it is calculated. For most one-way and round-trip mileage, the most common local destinations can be found on the Local Destination Mileage Chart on the MCC website. This chart will be updated with additional locations as they are more commonly traveled to.

For destinations not listed on the chart, a MapQuest should be submitted with the Local & Conference Expense Report. Please use the classic MapQuest site for any submissions, located at https://classic.mapquest.com/.

For any local travel, the shortest distance will be used between two locations, which can be figured on MapQuest by choosing the “Shortest Distance” radio button in the drop-down Options menu.

If you are traveling to multiple locations in one trip, you can add additional stops by clicking on the “+Add Stop” link.

If you are making a round trip, please check the box labeled “Round Trip” and MapQuest will calculate it for you.

If the MapQuest submitted has an incorrect address, or the address was not found and the nearest city was used in its place, a new MapQuest will be calculated.

Please note, Monroe Community College expects its travelers to exercise good judgement with respect to excess costs, luxury accommodations, and circuitous routes.

As always, if you have any questions or need help with your submissions, please contact the travel desk at extension 2150, or email <mailto:travel@monroecc.edu>. Safe travels!
