Introducing MCC's New Liberal Arts Degrees: Shared Features
All 3 Liberal Arts programs require:
- ENG 101—to be sequenced in the first semester—which can be used to fulfill the SUNY CWO Gen-Ed outcome
- First Year Experience (FYE) coursework to support student success - options include COS, CDL, HED, HON
- A writing course in addition to ENG 101:
- ENG 131 - Composition in the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, ENG 132 - Composition in Business and Community Engagement OR ENG 130 - Composition in STEM, Health, and the Applied Sciences
- ENG 200 - Advanced Composition
- ENG 250 - Professional Communication
- ENG 251 - Technical Communication
- HON 295 - Research Methods and Academic Writing
- 6 credits of 200-level coursework. These can be satisfied through specific, required courses or electives.
- Mandatory advisement/advisement key/alternate PIN
- Contextualized electives
- A cross-disciplinary capstone course
