News from the MCC Board of Trustees Meeting


The MCC Board of Trustees held its meeting in the Board Room, Spina Administration Building on the Brighton Campus on Monday, March 3 and took the following actions:

1.      Accepted the interim financial report as of January 2014.

2.      Authorized the purchase of items over $20,000 as listed for the month of January 2014.

3.      Adopted the College’s policy entitled “Information Technology Security Policy” dated October 3, 2013.

4.      Approved the appointment of Dr. Lloyd Holmes as Vice President, Student Services, effective April 1, 2014.

5.      Approved the appointment of Dr. Ann Topping as Interim Executive Dean, Damon City Campus, effective March 3, 2014.

6.     Approved the reappointment of non-contract, administrative, faculty and technical assistants/advisors as listed at the ranks and titles indicated for the academic year beginning September 1, 2014 and ending June 30, 2015 for 10-month personnel or August 31, 2015 for 12-month personnel.

7.     Approved the promotion of associate professors, assistant professors and instructors effective September 1, 2014.

The Board also heard presentations from President Kress on progress on Strategic Plan, Direction Two; from Interim Vice President for Student Services Chris Belle-Isle and Director of Financial Aid Jerome St. Croix on the SALT Program; from MCC Foundation Chair Dan Burns on recent Foundation initiatives; from Faculty Senate President Mark Ernsthausen on Senate initiatives; and from Brenda Davies, representing the Support Staff Professional Development and Planning Committee, on professional development initiatives this year.
