MCC men's soccer player Kevin Thompson was honored by the National Junior College Athletic Association by being named the Division I National Player of the Week.
Thompson, a freshman forward from Trinidad, scored seven goals in three Monroe victories. He had four goals in a 10-0 win over Niagara CCC, one goal in a 3-0 win over the Roberts Wesleyan JVs, and added two scores in a 6-0 victory against Mercyhurst North East. Thompson has 11 goals in his last five games and has scored 13 on the season for the 13th-ranked Tribunes.
