Julie Slate named Director of Admission

Julie Slate has been selected as Director of Admission.  Julie has served as Interim Director of Admission, since February 2021.  Julie began her career at MCC in 2009, first as an Admissions Counselor, and in 2018, became the Assistant Director of Admission.  Prior to MCC, Julie was and Admissions Counselor at Bryant and Stratton College.

Julie is well versed in issues that impact the higher education landscape.  She has positioned herself as a leader through her involvement in various organizations such as American Association for Women in Community College, SUNY College Admissions Professionals (SUNYCAP) and Rochester Area Colleges (RAC).  Julie has served as President of MCC’s Chapter of AAWCC, and served as Region 1 Director for the national organization.  Julie was awarded SUNYCAP Professional of the Year in 2019. 

Julie’s experience has allowed her to become an expert in SUNY guidelines, SUNY regulations, and using admissions data to inform recruitment and outreach activities.  Julie has her pulse on state and national trends, she is a collaborative partner, has expertise in CRM management and communication, application processing and implementing new and innovative recruitment initiatives, which will be our highest priorities in the new academic year.    Julie is passionate, committed and dedicated to leading the Admissions team at Monroe Community College.
