Power outages in Building 5 this weekend

Construction is progressing to replace the power system in Building 5. Starting this Friday (today) at 5 p.m. power will be shut down intermittently to 120 volt panels to begin their conversion to newer panels. Work will begin in the basement and first floor, then progress upward to the fifth floor. This weekend, main feeds will be switched to the new wiring and cause outlets to lose power in the entire building. That means everything plugged into the wall will go off at least for a little while between Friday at 5 p.m. and Saturday at 5 p.m.

Next weekend, we hope to convert the panels on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th floors. This will take a little longer, and we plan for the outlets to be out on each floor for several hours. This work may stretch into Sunday, depending on what surprises we find in the walls. The basement and first floor will not be affected.

THIS AFFECTS BUILDING 5 ONLY.

Thank you in advance for your patience while we complete this complicated project.
