Therapy Assistance Online: Resource for Final Exam Week

During Mental Health Awareness Month and final exams week, we invite you to pause and turn your attention to Therapy Assistance Online (TAO). Monroe Community College partners with TAO to offer FREE and effective, evidence-based mental health resources to all students, faculty and staff.

If you have not already signed up, you can get started by following these steps:

  • Go to TAO website.
  • Don’t Have an Account? Click the Register link.
  • Use your MCC email to complete the sign-up form and click the “Sign Me Up” button.
  • You will be asked to enter your MCC credentials to be granted access to TAO.
  • Accept the informed consent and complete the requested information. Click “Go to Dashboard” to view your home page. From now on, you can log in with MCC single sign-on.

Once you are logged in, click on the “Mindfulness Exercises” tab to view single session videos, most of which are under 10 minutes in length.

Mindfulness has been studied and proven to help reduce pain, aid in reduction of symptoms associated with certain mental health conditions, lower blood pressure, and improve overall health and sense of well-being. Mindfulness helps you shift away from a space of ruminating over the past or worrying about the what ifs in the future, and instead helps you practice focusing your senses on the here and now. TAO’s “Mindfulness Exercises” section includes videos that address mindfulness for breathing, eating, walking, restful sleep, pain, body acceptance, and more.

A variety of other content is also available under the “Browse Content” section of TAO. You will find short videos on financial stress, substance use, addressing imposterism, parenting and caregiving stress, grief and loss, anxiety, loneliness, and other mental health and wellness topics.
