MCC Upward Bound Program Starts Off its Summer Academic Program

The Upward Bound 2015 Summer Program began on June 30th and is off to a wonderful start.  There are approximately 60 students in attendance each day.  The students attend academic classes in Math, Science, Reading, Writing and Academic Skills Workshops.

In addition to the academic classes taught during the summer, Upward Bound also takes students on weekly field trips. During the first week of the program, the 9th and 10th grade students  visited the RMSC; the 11th and 12 graders visited Edinboro University, SUNY Fredonia, and Rochester City Hall, where students had the opportunity to meet Mayor Lovely Warren.  We also had a guest speaker from the D&C, reporter Bennett Loudon.  We closed the week volunteering with the MCC Horizons program.

Please say hello to those students in the burgundy and gold t-shirts.  They are Upward Bound.
