Katie Couric Teleconference

More than 100 students turned out Monday night for the Katie Couric Teleconference, hosted by the Museum of Television & Radio in New York City. Students were able to see clips from some of the more memorable moments in Ms. Couric's television career, from her earliest news reports to her time on the Today Show. Afterwards, Ms. Couric discussed the future of television news, ratings, and her role in bringing the truth to the American people. Students from college campuses across the country also had the opportunity to ask questions of Ms. Couric...and a communications student from Monroe Community College, Juanita Medina, was one of only three students selected. The question Ms. Medina asked? "Do you think programs such as The Daily Show are a hindrance or a help to the news profession?"

You can view a webstream of this teleconference, and Ms. Couric's response to Ms. Medina's question by going to <<https://www.mtr.org>>. A videotape of the teleconference will also be placed on reserve in the Leroy V. Good Library.
