TCC, Day 4 of our gratitude series: Kudos to you, Student & Faculty Support Services

Happy Monday! Our fourth day of the Kudos series continues with celebrating the student and faculty support team.

Aysel Akkilic (TRIO SSS Program Advisor)

Aysel has trained me with grace and kindness.

Christine Tickyj (Counseling, Disability and Health Services)

I began working at MCC in April 1st 2024. Since the moment I arrived Chris made me feel so welcomed. Her kindness and patience made it very easy for me to start a new position in an office full of new peeps. Chris made it more exciting for me to come to work every day as she is always so happy with a beautiful smile. She mentored me and helped me with every student that walked-in, every phone call and email until I was confident enough to spread my wings. Any time I have a question she is available with the most positive attitude. That attitude and personality of hers helped me learn my new duties faster, because I was not scared to asked questions. We have many students who just come to visit her or call the office to say hello, she has a big heart and everyone can feel it. After 6 months, Chris has quickly become like a nana to me, my grandma is in Puerto Rico and I missed her tremendously, Chris reminds me of her. Always wondering how are you doing or if you need anything at all. We have laughed and cried together! There is no other person that I rather share the front desk, my day to day life at work, my energy than with Christine. I admire her love for the students and how she can calm a student with her soothing voice.I strongly believe that Chris is the soul of this office!!! What a blessing she is to my life!

Donna Burley (Instructional Services)

Donna went above and beyond to help coordinate getting offices set up for the new Student Success Coaches in building 11. She made sure we had what we needed and kept track of many requests. It was so helpful to have her as a go-to person. Thank you, Donna!

Diane Wilson (Career Services)

As a new employee at MCC, Diane has been an integral part of helping me navigate what I need to be successful here. She always knows where to go and whom to talk to for everything I have needed thus far. She is always ready and willing to help. There is no way my start at MCC would have been as smooth without her.

Mary Timmons (Library-DC)

Mary is an invaluable resource for the College. Her attention to detail and uber-librarian skills have been crucial to organizing the Faculty Senate's archives and data as well as the MSCHE Self-Study Evidence Inventory. She is the solo full-time librarian for the Downtown Campus. Her willingness to serve on College-wide committees is much appreciated as her talent and skillset are valuable and much needed by both Senate and Middle States.

Virtual Campus Team

There are no words to express how much I appreciate everything you are doing. The entire Virtual Campus Team is always there to provide support, guidance, and consultation to the MCC community. I really appreciate your guidance and resources, particularly in inclusive teaching and learning. I am looking forward to collaborating with you. Thanks for everything you are doing!
