Community Fridays for a Cause

Community Fridays for a Cause

“Community Fridays for a Cause” debuts this Friday, October 1st.  This is the first of six Fridays during the academic year that have been designated as part of the “Community Fridays for a Cause” program.  This program has been established to raise awareness of charitable organizations and the people they serve while increasing our college-community connections.

This Friday will be your opportunity to dress casually and make a donation to the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester, October’s recipient of donations raised through the “Community Fridays for a Cause” Program.
Donations will be collected in each department.

https://www.bccr.org/images/bccrlogo.pngThe Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester (BCCR) is a local grassroots organization dedicated to eradicating breast cancer through action and advocacy.   BCCR is committed to funding innovative breast cancer research occurring in the Greater Rochester Region and is a member organization of the HYPERLINK "https://www.natlbcc.org/" \nNational Breast Cancer Coalition and the New York State Breast Cancer Network.

Breast Cancer is a serious health problem in New York State, with more than 12,000 new cases and 3,500 deaths reported each year. At this time, one in eight women can expect to be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime. Currently, Monroe County ranks first for all new diagnoses of breast cancer in New York State.

The Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester’s mission is to provide support to those touched by a diagnosis of breast cancer, to make access to information and care a priority through education and advocacy, and to empower women and men to participate fully in decisions relating to breast cancer.

Let’s demonstrate MCC’s commitment to community by raising funds for this worthy cause.

Thank you in advance for your support.
