Starfish News: Kudos Survey, New Tutor Nomination Referral
The final Starfish survey of the semester opens on Wednesday, April 2nd and runs through April 18th. As with all Starfish surveys, the Kudos Survey will be delivered to faculty via email.
There are no flags or outreach requested items available on The Kudos Survey. Instead, faculty will have a variety of kudos and referrals to choose from to send positive messages to their students. The following items will be available in the Kudos Survey:
- Showing Improvement! Raise this kudo to commend a student whose hard work is improving their performance in your class.
- You Rock! Raise this kudo to acknowledge a student's outstanding performance in your class.
- Great Participation! Raise this kudo to acknowledge a student's positive contributions in class discussions.
- Overcoming Adversity. Raise this kudo to acknowledge a student's perseverance in the face of adversity. (Comments Required)
- Thank You. Raise this kudo for a student whose performance or behavior has helped in achieving your desired outcomes for the class. (Comments Required)
- Recommendation for the Honors Program. Raise this referral to recommend students for the honors program. (Comments Required)
Additionally, there will be a new option making its debut on this semester's kudos survey: Nomination for Peer Tutoring! Faculty can now use Starfish to recommend their students as peer tutors. These referrals will send a message to the student as well as to staff in the Tutoring and Academic Assistance Center:
- Nomination for Peer Tutoring. Raise this referral for students who you think would make a good tutor for other students. Prospective tutors must have completed the course with a grade of a B or higher, should have a natural inclination to help others, and should demonstrate strong general academic skills such a test-taking or writing. (Comments Required)
The Kudos Survey continues to be popular with our faculty. Please feel encouraged to use Starfish to promote your students and support the TAAC!
Thank you in advance for your participation!
