COVID-19 Case Update, County Mass Vax Site at Downtown Campus to Close This Week

Thanks to your staying vigilant to protect yourself and others, MCC is still one of the safest places to learn and work in Monroe County. Monitoring your health before coming to campus and testing are key factors to our ability to stop the spread of the virus and its variants.

  1. Testing Sessions Held Today and Tomorrow
    MCC’s Testing Center will be open 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. today, April 11 and 9:00 to 3:00 p.m. tomorrow, April 12 in the Flynn Campus Center Forum (3-130). No appointment is necessary.
  2. Spring Recess begins next week, April 17-24. 
    MCC will be open but no classes will be held. There will be one testing session on Monday, April 18 from 12:30-5:30 p.m. (Note earlier closing time; no appointment necessary). On-campus testing will not be offered on Tuesday, April 19.
     
  3. The Monroe County Mass Vaccination Site located at the Downtown Campus is slated to close after Thursday, April 14.
    ​​​​​​​Vaccinations for individuals 12 and older will be offered on Tuesday and Thursday only from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Walk-ins are accepted, appointments are encouraged. For information on this and other available sites and vaccination clinics, please check the Monroe County COVID-19 Resources website.

Last Week’s Testing Results:
Following are results received for MCC-administered COVID-19 tests between April 4-10:

  • 3 positive cases were identified among students, faculty and staff who participated in MCC-administered testing during the week of April 4.
  • 6 students are isolating off campus.
  • 0 students are isolating on campus.
  • 0 students are in quarantine and precautionary quarantine.
  • MCC 7-Day Rolling Average On-campus Positivity Rate (SUNY COVID-19 Case Tracker)
    • Students: 0.83%
    • Employees: 1.83%
    • Overall average on-campus positivity rate since onset of pooled testing: 0.31%
  • Monroe County 7-day average positivity rate: 7.7%

Verified Employee COVID Isolation and Quarantine Data*:

  • No MCC employee received a COVID isolation order based upon on-campus administered testing during the week of April 4.
  • 3 employees received a COVID isolation order based upon off-campus administered testing.
  • No employee is currently subject to a MCDOH quarantine order.

* The above employee data is current and verified through information provided to MCC by the New York State Department of Health, Monroe County Department of Health, MCC Human Resources Department, and the employees’ county of residence where applicable (if outside of Monroe County).
