NACEP Awards Re-accreditation to MCC's - College Now Dual Enrollment Program
The National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) has granted re-accreditation to Monroe Community College’s - College Now dual enrollment program. As the only national accrediting body dedicated to concurrent enrollment partnerships. NACEP’s standards serve as a benchmark for achieving alignment in faculty qualifications, course content, student outcomes, and institutional support. Earning NACEP accreditation signifies that MCC has met the highest level of excellence in the design, oversight, and evaluation of its College Now dual enrollment program across several key areas.
MCC’s College Now dual enrollment program which started in 1995 with a handful of courses at 5 partner school districts, enrolled over 4500 (unduplicated) high school students during the 2023-2024 academic year. Ninety-six different MCC courses were offered at 47 partner high school and BOCES locations last year with MCC faculty from 19 departments serving as liaisons for a total of 541 course sections.
The College Now dual enrollment program is another way MCC fulfills our mission of access, innovation, and excellence. High school students benefit from the enhanced experience, parents benefit from a cost savings, our high school partners benefit though the collegial partnership and the community benefits through the opportunities College Now presents. I am so proud of the work of our great program and the life changing impact it has on the Greater Rochester community and beyond.
A heartfelt thanks, to the MCC faculty and staff that contributed to compiling, reviewing and submitting evidence as a part of our application and request for additional evidence. A special thank you to Lauren Bunnell, former Concurrent Enrollment Coordinator, Betsy Ripton, Cecelia Hagelberg, and Shawanda Evans in leading the colleges efforts in the re-accreditation process.
