Kristen Fragnoli Appointed Dean of Liberal Arts

I am very pleased to announce that Kristen Fragnoli’s appointment as the Dean of Liberal Arts was approved by the MCC Board of Trustees on June 4, 2012.

Kristen holds a M.A .in Communication from the State University of New York at Brockport and a B.A. in English and Spanish from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY.  Her formal education includes her participation in a Spanish Immersion, Study Abroad Program in Madrid, Spain.  In addition, Kristen has made an extensive investment in a variety of professional activities, participating in The Chair Academy Leadership Program, The Department Chair Institute, Mediation Training, and Grant Writing Training.

At MCC, Kristen has served as Interim Dean of Liberal Arts, as Department Chair of Visual and Performing Arts, as a faculty member, and as a senior advisor.  Additionally, Kristen was a bi-lingual instructor and program coordinator at Middlesex County College and a coordinator, counselor, and bi-lingual instructor at Mohawk Valley Community College.

Most recently, Kristen has served as the lead facilitator for the Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council and on the grant award panel for the Arts and Cultural Council of Greater Rochester.  She currently leads or shares leadership responsibilities for the Democracy Commitment, the ACE Internationalization Lab, the Anthropology Field School, the Digital Publishing and Animation Project, and Writing Across the Curriculum. Kristen is exactly the kind of collaborative and innovative leader that this dynamic division demands.

I’d like to thank the Administrative and SCAA search committees and the many faculty and staff who participated in the search.  Your insights and your commitment shaped this crucial task and helped to identify an excellent candidate.
