On February 3 David Monroe, program advisor for Rochester AmeriCorps, conducted a training session on civic engagement for a group of students from the DCC Student Government Association. The content focused on the skills, knowledge, attitudes, and actions involved in being an engaged citizen. Staff facilitated discussions on connecting student education with community needs, the value of service for personal achievement, and putting democratic principles into practice.
Thanks go to Susan Spinetti, student activities and leadership coordinator, for giving AmeriCorps this opportunity.
