Black History Month Poetry Contest
On Tuesday February 15, the Black Student Union and the Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights Project are hosting a Poetry Contest to mark Black History Month. Poems will be performed in-person or via video in the R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center Atrium.
- Poem should be about an African American person in history who influenced you
- Length should be 3 – 5 minutes
- No profanity or offensive language
Please submit videos or written poems to cvazzana@monroecc.edu. All poems must be submitted by noon on Friday, February 11, 2022.
Prizes for each category (video and in-person):
- 1st place $250 gift card and poem featured on MCC Blackboard
- 2nd place $100 gift card
- 3rd place $75 gift card
