Class Schedule and Outlook Calendar

Class schedules for teaching faculty will not be automatically placed into each faculty member’s MCC Outlook calendar for the fall 2022 semester. Faculty can add each class to their Outlook calendar as a recurring event so their calendars will reflect their teaching schedule.

How to Add Classes to your Outlook Schedule

Classes can be added as a recurring appointment.

  1. Create a new appointment and put your course in as the subject, you may choose to enter the location as well.
  2. Select the Start and End time and select the first date of the class (e.g., Monday, August 29).
  3. In the top ribbon, show as Busy and click on Recurrence.
  4. Here you can select the days for the class to show and the end date.
    • For example: click the button for Weekly, enter 1 in the box for Recur every X weeks, click the days of the week for the class/meeting to display – Monday, Wednesday, Friday.
    • Then at the bottom, put in the last day of class for the END BY date.
    • Click OK.
  5. The screen will now display your recurring appointment. It will state if there are any conflicts above the subject and a recurrence statement will display below the location. Confirm the recurrence is what you wanted.
  6. Click Save and Close.
  7. Repeat for each of your classes.

You will need to manually edit for exceptions or changes to your class schedule. For example, you will need to manually remove any classes on Labor Day, Monday 9/5, and Tuesday 9/6 when no classes are being held. Another exception will be Wednesday 11/23 when there are no classes and 11/24-11/25 Thanksgiving Recess.
