Grading Survival Tip Correction!
When I printed the email address to use to send your notes regarding grading to I made a mistake. You should use the email address:
HYPERLINK "mailto:gradenotes@monroecc.edu"gradenotes@monroecc.edu
I mistakenly listed it as if it were a web site with the ‘www’ included and this was incorrect.
Now, while I have your attention, and a propos of nothing, why is it that when we live in a world where we have abbreviations for everything, including calling the President ‘Dubya’, no one has created a verbal abbreviation for ‘www’? It always sounds so awkward when you hear people reciting a web site and they say ‘w w w’. I mean ‘w’ has THREE syllables. It would be different if it were ‘t’ which is quick to say. Why hasn’t anyone started saying ‘3 dubs’ or ‘tri-dub’ or even ‘dubs’ assuming that everyone knows there are three of them?
Things like this really bug me and I’m not sure I’ll be able to do grading this fall unless I have an understanding of this cultural phenomenon. I hope Betsy understands.
