Spotlight: CSTEP Wednesday Forum
April 2, 2025, LaToya D. Collins, an Adjunct Professor at MCC from the Business Administration Department, who currently teaches in Health and Physical Education department, along with her role as a Student Advocate, led an inspiring session for our CSTEP students. The session introduced them to a powerful and transformative concept of leadership one that cultivates an environment capable of nurturing and challenging an individual's resilience and growth.
As a transformative leader herself, Professor Collins shared valuable insights from her personal journey, highlighting both her successes and the setbacks she encountered along the way. These experiences served as a foundation for emphasizing the importance of overcoming life's challenges through innovative solutions, all while promoting a work culture that thrives on vitality and high performance.
"Innovation? Yes. Revitalization? Absolutely. But most importantly, it is about recognizing that every individual has the potential to be a catalyst for change," Professor Collins explained, reinforcing the idea that leadership is rooted in empowering others.
The session ended on a powerful note, with Professor Collins leaving the students with an empowering message: everyone has the power to drive transformation and make a meaningful impact in their environment. The message underscored that true leadership is about recognizing potential and fostering change from within.
