Get Ready for Election Day: Resources and Workshop from MCC Libraries
It’s hard to believe Election Day is less than a month away! MCC Libraries is excited to share a variety of resources and services to support the MCC community in navigating election-related information.
- Visit our Election Displays to find books and other resources on voting, civic engagement, and election processes.
- Check out our Elections, Voting, and Civic Engagement Libguide, for trusted election information, and helpful tools like the SIFT method—a quick and easy way to evaluate online election news. With so much misinformation about the 2024 election, the SIFT method can help you sort through it and stay informed.
We also encourage you to invite your students to attend our Evaluating Online Sources workshop, where we’ll dive deeper into the SIFT method. This strategy will help them critically evaluate not just election content, but any information they encounter in their assignments.
Evaluating Online Sources Workshop Details
- Date & Time: Wednesday, October 16, 12 pm to 12:50 pm
- Location: LeRoy V. Good Library (Brighton Campus) - Room 423
- Join Online: Evaluating Online Sources Workshop Zoom Session
Additionally, remind your students that our librarians are available to provide research help. Whether they need assistance with finding credible sources for their assignments or navigating complex topics, they can book a one-on-one research appointment or stop by for support. We’re here to help them succeed.
We hope these resources will help you and your students navigate the upcoming election with confidence. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the MCC Libraries (libraries@monroecc.edu).
