TCC: Register for September's Adjunct Supper for Success
MCC Students and the Need for an Equity-Minded Classroom
Please join the Teaching and Creativity Center for the September Adjunct Supper for Success. In this interactive workshop, you will learn about the unique qualities of MCC students and why a DEI-centered approach in the classroom creates universal benefits. After a short data-based presentation about how extreme residential segregation in Monroe County impacts our classroom, we will demonstrate how highlighting our students’ identities helps to promote an asset-minded learning environment. Together, we will explore techniques to create a sense of belonging in a diverse setting.
- Date: Monday, September 23, 2024
- Time: 5 to 6:30pm
- Where: Monroe A, Brighton Campus
- Presenter: Dr. Natasha Chen (AHPS)
