CLT-250: Clinical Rotations

Course Description

Clinical experience is an important component of the clinical laboratory technician program. Students spend over 300 hours in area laboratories where they apply the knowledge gained from previous CLT courses to clinical practice. Under the supervision of affiliate laboratory personnel, students verify pre-analytic specimen integrity, conduct routine testing, perform quality control procedures, and demonstrate professional communication skills in the post-analytic reporting of results. Rotations include clinical chemistry, hematology/hemostasis, immunohematology, microbiology, urinalysis, serology, and pre-analytics.
