ESL-140: ESOL: Reading for Fluency

Course Description

This companion course to ESL 145 supports the development of oral and written fluency through extensive reading for low advanced English language learners. It includes personal responses to texts, small group discussion, and grammar & vocabulary study. Students gain a deeper understanding of American culture by analyzing themes. Three class hours.

Prerequisites

Score of 54-64 on CELSA placement test; or ESL 100 and ESL 120, each with a grade of C or higher; or permission of program coordinator.
