Fall 2025 Hiring & Onboarding Reminders

As we prepare for the Fall 2025 semester, please review these important updates to ensure a smooth hiring and onboarding process for all employees:

Job Postings

All MCC positions—part-time, student, adjunct, and full-time—must be posted on the MCC Careers website to ensure a fair and consistent hiring process. Details can be found in the Vacancy Review Protocols (PDF) (Employee Home > Human Resource > Employee Recruitment > Vacancy Review Protocols).

Onboarding Requirements

Onboarding paperwork is required for:

  • All new hires
  • Rehires with any break in service

This includes student workers, part-time hourly, adjunct, and full-time positions. Allow 10 to 14 days for processing.

Important: No employee may begin working until cleared by Human Resources. Starting without HR clearance will result in removal from campus until onboarding is complete.

Why 10 to 14 Days?

This timeframe ensures:

  • Approval routing through Banner Workflow/HRA
  • Completion of electronic onboarding and I-9 verification
  • Background checks, official transcripts receipt, and data entry into Banner

Final Reminders

  • Offers are contingent on completion of background checks. See our Background Check Protocol (PDF).
  • Include a 10 to 14 day buffer when entering start/appointment dates in HRA or Banner workflows.
