Teaching and Creativity Center Badging Program

The Teaching and Creativity Center is pleased to present a badging program. The intention of the badging program is to acknowledge professional development achieved through TCC programs and to provide faculty and staff with a means to easily communicate their achievements to colleagues, supervisors, chairs, deans, and others.

Badges are digital icons with links to information about TCC-sponsored professional development activities. The linked information identifies the TCC as the issuer of the badges and summarizes how the participant earned the badge, and, as noted, digital badges facilitate efficient communication of professional development and growth.

To pilot the program, the TCC will issue badges to participants in the Leading Effective and Impactful Meetings series offered in the Spring 2023 semester.

The TCC will issue a Participation Badge for attending single events and an Engagement Badge for those who complete a series of professional development activities. You can view the badges for the Leading Effective and Impactful Meetings in the TCC Badging Program folder under the Professional Development tab in Brightspace.

The next step will be badges for the Adjunct Faculty Supper series in the 2023-2034 academic year, followed by badges issued for all future TCC programs. In the future, the TCC will issue Implementation Badges to those who show they have applied practices, skills, and knowledge and Contribution Badges to those who lead professional development activities for others.

Learn more about the TCC badging program by attending the Badging Workshop on June 9 at the Teaching and Learning Conference or by emailing Bob Muhlnickel (rmuhlnickel@monroecc.edu).
