Monroe Community College is pleased to announce the appointment of Kristin Lowe as Interim Executive Director for Organizational Behavior and Development. In this temporary role, Ms. Lowe will provide strategic leadership and oversight in several critical areas, including Human Resources, that directly impact the college's organizational health and long-term success.
Kristin brings a wealth of experience in human resources strategy, leadership development, and organizational planning; many members of our MCC community will remember her as she previously served the College in this role. She will serve in this capacity on a part-time basis and report directly to the VP for Diversity, Equity, and Belonging. Simultaneously, we will begin the process of examining future staffing needs in Human Resources, which will include a national search for the next Executive Director for Organizational Behavior and Development at MCC.
Her focus will be on high-level strategic initiatives, including but not limited to:
- Employee Relations: Overseeing employee relations issues and offering expert guidance on conflict resolution and mediation.
- Compliance and Legal Matters: Working in close collaboration with Institutional Compliance Officer Brenda Ronan to ensure MCC remains in compliance with labor laws, Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs), and institutional policies.
- Talent Acquisition and Retention: Leading director-level and above hiring processes that involve SCAA, including searches for key leadership roles such as the Chief Information Officer (CIO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO)/VP of Administrative Services, and Executive Director for Human Resources and Organizational Development. This includes working with external search firms and coordinating the development of RFPs when appropriate.
Where to Direct HR-Related Questions
While Kristin will be focusing on strategic HR leadership and executive-level projects, all day-to-day HR inquiries—including questions about recruitment, benefits, FMLA, payroll, and general employee support—should continue to be directed to the appropriate Human Resources staff members as outlined below at 585-292-2048:
- Suzanne Bureau - Benefits and General HR Matters
- Cheryl Gavigan - Benefits and FMLA
- Chelsea Davis – Recruitment and Hiring
This clear division of responsibilities ensures that our college community continues to receive the timely support and services they need, while also allowing space for the strategic guidance and process improvements that will help MCC grow and thrive in the months ahead.
We welcome Kristin Lowe back to MCC in this limited capacity, and look forward to the positive impact of her expertise and leadership in support of a strong and dedicated HR team.
