Celebrating Our 2026 SUNY Online Teaching Ambassador, Dr. Wanda Willard
SUNY Online Teaching provides an opportunity for campus instructional designers to nominate two online faculty as SUNY Online Ambassadors each year. The Virtual Campus team is thrilled to announce that Dr. Wanda Willard has been selected as one of MCC’s 2026 SUNY Online Teaching Ambassadors!
Wanda, a Professor in the Psychology Department, teaches developmental psychology and supports students pursuing transfer pathways to four‑year institutions. This fall, her SUNY Online Course Quality Review (OSCQR) highlighted the clarity, structure, and strong instructor presence embedded throughout her online courses. Her approach to PSY 230 – Mysteries of Sleep and Dreaming was thoughtfully designed, engaging, and immediately inviting students into exploration.
Students consistently share that her online courses are well‑designed, clearly organized, and supportive, and our team has long admired the level of care she puts into articulating expectations and fostering meaningful discussion. Wanda’s dedication to digital accessibility has also made a significant impact. She has invested substantial time updating course materials to meet accessibility standards, demonstrating her commitment to ensuring all online learners can succeed.
As a 2026 Ambassador, Wanda was recognized during the SUNY Online Summit and featured on the SUNY Online Teaching website.
