TCC: Chatbots, Student Bots, and Draftback: Navigating AI's Shifting Landscape in the Classroom

In this workshop, Professors Angelique Johnston and Elizabeth Johnston will introduce participants to the 3-part, open-access modules on AI-literacy that they’ve created for use by anyone teaching or enrolled in writing-intensive courses. Topics covered in these modules include an overview of terminology related to AI in the classroom; common uses of AI in higher ed, as well as associated benefits and concerns; and best practices for ethical use of AI in the classroom. Angelique and Elizabeth will also introduce participants to two student-friendly chatbots they’ve created that can be used in the classroom.
