Passing of Retiree Robert Berry, Professor Emeritus of Mathematics and Faculty Association President

I regretfully inform the college community that Robert (Bob) Berry passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, at the age of 90.

Bob served as a Mathematics Professor at MCC from 1964 to 1995. During his tenure, he also served as president of the Faculty Association and was recognized with an award for teaching excellence.

Bob was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Shirlee, in 2023. He was also predeceased by his siblings Ellen Sigl, Kitty Miklitsch, George Berry, Loretta Berry, and Jack Berry.

He is survived by his children, Beth (Andrew) Sacco, Susan (Rod) Christian, Brett Berry, John (Tracy) Berry, and his grandchildren, David Sacco, Laura, Amy, and Matthew Christian, Daniel, Jenna, Sara, and Lena Berry, his sister Mary Beth Scalise, and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, 3325 Winton Road South, today, October 29, 2025, from 4 to 7 PM. Robert’s Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, 11 AM at St. Anne Church, 1600 Mt Hope Ave, Rochester, NY 14620.
