MCC President's Tribute to 9/11 Victims & Heroes

For the 24th year, students, faculty, and members of our Monroe Community College family will gather to remember the lives lost and honor the heroism shown on September 11, 2001.

Former President Barack Obama once said, “Even the smallest act of service, the simplest act of kindness, is a way to honor those we lost, a way to reclaim that spirit of unity that followed 9/11.” In that spirit, our participation in the September 11th Remembrance Walk on the Brighton Campus becomes a meaningful act of remembrance—honoring those we lost, reflecting our shared commitment to one another, and embodying MCC’s core values of community and inclusiveness.

As the daughter of a Korean War veteran, I stand with the College community in remembering those we lost and honoring the brave first responders and service members who selflessly answered the call to defend our safety and freedom.
