Joseph Delorisses' Illustration Selected for MCC's 2025 Holiday Card

Please join me in congratulating Commercial Art & Illustration student Joseph Delorisses for his winning illustration, “A Little Drink, A Giant Milkshake,” which adorns MCC’s 2025 holiday card. The illustration is attached to this article.

Guided by Professor James Downer (School of Arts & Humanities/Visual and Performing Arts), Delorisses and his classmates developed illustrations with the theme “Transformation: Catalyzing bright futures for our community and its people” in mind.

MCC’s Vice Presidents and I selected Delorisses’ design as the featured image for this year’s holiday card. Congratulations to Lis Torrealba and Isaiah Gravesandy, who earned 2nd and 3rd place honors, respectively, and all of the Commercial Art and Illustration program students who participated.

Each time MCC empowers students to recognize themselves as scholars, leaders, peacemakers, and artists, we are given a gift beyond measure. This season gives us much to celebrate—and even more to anticipate in 2026.
