Joe Marchese Appointed Controller

Monroe Community College is pleased to announce the appointment of Joe Marchese as Controller, effective April 22, 2026, following approval by the Board of Trustees yesterday.

Joe brings more than 30 years of progressive experience in accounting, auditing, and financial reporting to this role, along with a deep understanding of MCC’s financial operations. He has served the College with distinction since 2012, most recently as Assistant Controller, where he oversaw core accounting functions, managed monthly and annual financial reporting, and directed the College’s external audit process.

Prior to his work at MCC, Joe served as Accounting Manager for the Monroe Community College Association, where he led budgeting and financial reporting efforts and worked closely with stakeholders across the organization. Earlier in his career, he spent more than a decade with The Bonadio Group, advancing to the role of Audit Manager and working with a wide range of clients to ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.

Joe holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from SUNY Geneseo and is a New York State Certified Public Accountant. His background in higher education finance, combined with his collaborative leadership style and strong institutional knowledge, positions him well to support the College’s financial stewardship and long-term planning.

In his new role as Controller, Joe will continue to oversee the College’s accounting operations, grants accounting, financial reporting, and audit processes, and will assume additional oversight of the Payroll, Student Accounts, and Purchasing functions, while supporting MCC’s mission of providing accessible, high-quality education to the community.
