Upcoming Survey in Introductory Courses via the Developmental Education Council

In recognition of students once served by the Transitional Studies Department, Interim Dean Ganze-Smith and Dean Woods convened MCC’s inaugural Developmental Education Council.  Members of the Council represent academic departments and divisions across the college, as well as the TAAC.  Initially, the group focused on establishing a vision with corresponding goals.

In order to meet some of the goals of the group, we would like to hear directly from students in gateway courses in order to gain a better understanding of their self-reported capabilities and barriers.  The results of this survey will then help inform future training and presentations.

The Council has collaborated with Institutional Research and is pleased to administer a survey to these students.

Within the next week or so, the survey will be sent to students in these courses:

  • BIO 120, BIO 133, BIO 144
  • BUS 104
  • CHEM 100
  • ENG 101
  • MTH 050; MTH 060; MTH 065; MTH 098; MTH 150; MTH 160; MTH 165
  • PSY 101
  • SOC 101
  • TRS 090; TRS 091; TRS 094

Faculty teaching these courses will be receiving further instructions through email.

Any questions or further comment may be sent to Eric Berg (eberg4@monroecc.edu) or Judi Salsburg Taylor (jsalsburg@monroecc.edu), co-chairs, Developmental Education Council.
