Monday, November 17, 2025
Monroe A&B, Brighton Campus
- 8:30 am: Light Breakfast
- 9:00 am: Program Begins
- 12:00 pm: Lunch and Program Conclusion
Driven by the Federal CHIPS Act and major investments from New York State, the semiconductor industry is rapidly expanding in our region. This growth is expected to generate a strong demand for technician-level talent in fields such as optics, microelectronics, engineering, and more.
Attendees will hear directly from industry leaders, including representatives from Micron, and the National Institute for Industry and Career Advancement (NIICA). NIICA serves as the nation’s leading organization for developing the semiconductor talent pipeline and is the U.S. Department of Labor’s national intermediary for establishing and expanding registered apprenticeships across semiconductor and nanotechnology-related supply chains.
Experts will:
- Share updates on local semiconductor initiatives
- Identify high-demand workforce skills
- Provide guidance on integrating semiconductor content into existing curricula to better prepare students for careers in this dynamic sector
Please RSVP by Wednesday, November 12th.
This workshop is funded 100 percent by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education, sponsored by U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer.
