Strategic Planning Leadership Team Begins Work on MCC's 2027 Strategic Plan
Monroe Community College (MCC) is pleased to announce the launch of the Strategic Planning Leadership Team (SPLT)—a diverse, cross-campus group charged by President Dr. DeAnna Burt-Nanna with developing MCC’s next strategic plan, to be implemented in 2027. Co-chaired by Kelsey Bright, associate vice president, Academic Affairs, and Tori Matthews, assistant professor, Biology, the SPLT will guide an inclusive process to shape the College’s direction for the next several years.
The SPLT will serve as a recommending body to the President and the MCC Board of Trustees, offering priorities, goals, and strategies that reflect the needs of today’s students and tomorrow’s community. With support from an external strategic planning consultant, the team will engage students, employees, the MCC Foundation and Association, and stakeholders across Monroe County’s diverse communities, business sectors, and educational partners.
As part of its work, the SPLT will also review and recommend updates to MCC’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure full alignment with the 2027 Plan. The final plan will include three to five key institutional priorities, each supported by goals that are Strategic, Measurable, Ambitious, Realistic, Time‑bound, Inclusive, and Equitable. These priorities will guide divisional planning across the College.
A first draft of the plan will be presented to the Board of Trustees in June 2027, with final approval anticipated in August 2027.
This strategic planning effort is grounded in MCC’s enduring values and its commitment to “Catalyzing Bright Futures for our Community and its People,” ensuring that the College remains a powerful engine of opportunity and economic impact across all zip codes of Monroe County.
