Assistant Chief Katie Ferguson Recognized by CALEA
Assistant Chief Katie Ferguson was recently named a Certified Accreditation Manager (CAM) by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) at the organization’s annual conference.
The Certified Accreditation Manager designation is awarded to law enforcement professionals who successfully complete CALEA’s specialized training and demonstrate expertise in managing accreditation standards and compliance. Accreditation through CALEA is considered a national benchmark for law enforcement excellence, focusing on professionalism, accountability, and best practices.
“This accomplishment represents many hours of hard work and dedication,” said Steve Wise, MCC Director of Public Safety. “Assistant Chief Ferguson’s achievement underscores our department’s commitment to professionalism, transparency, and service to the community.”
In her role, Assistant Chief Ferguson oversees accreditation efforts, including policy development, compliance monitoring, and preparation for accreditation reviews. Her work helps ensure the department continues to meet national standards while promoting transparency, efficiency, and public trust.
