Professional Development: Introduction to Excel (Hands On)
Join us for an introductory training session on Microsoft Excel designed to help you manage data efficiently. This session is designed for beginner users of Excel to show basic introductory features.
What You’ll Learn:
- Entering and editing data – typing information into cells, autofill basics
- Basis Formatting Tools – These make your spreadsheet readable and professional
- Creating column headers – labeling data clearly for easy navigation
- Adjusting Rows and Columns – resizing to fit content
- Formatting numbers – currency, percentages, dates, and number formatting
- Creating simple tables – converting data into an Excel table for better organization
- Saving workbook – best practices for file organization (.xlsx vs. .csv)
- Sorting and Filtering – easily sort and filter data
- Intro to Simple Formulas – a few essential formulas
- Using Pivot Tables – a basic intro on summarizing data
Since this is a hands-on session, it’s important that you bring a laptop to work on so you can follow along and get the most out of the experience.
