TCC: Kudos Gratitude Series (Day 4): Kudos to GEIS & World Languages and Culture Departments

Happy Thursday! As you take a sip of your coffee, please enjoy these kudos from students and colleagues to our amazing Global Education and International Services and World Languages and Cultures departments. As an international student graduate and a bilingual individual, I have tremendous respect and appreciation for the collaboration between these two departments.

This semester, I also challenged myself by completing a French class with Professor Marigh Haj. I could even try to write this message in French—thank you for everything, Professor Haj!

Bridget Dee (World Languages and Culture)

  • She is very helpful professor she always understand her students she explains everything very clear and she always support her students. She has a very good plan for studying. I am so happy for having her next semester.

Carly O'Keefe (Global Education and International Services)

  • Carly provided the sustainability assistance to me since I was still in high school. She helps my family and me solve a lot of questions about school, life, law, etc. She is a really reliable person.
  • What is remarkable is that Carly O'Keefe not only helps with course selection, but also supports international students in a very caring and consistent way. I am very grateful for her help and for making my experience at college better

Christina Lee (Global Education and International Services)

  • Christina, you are always so genuine and natural. The world needs more compassionate, wise, and kind leaders who truly believe in equity, belonging, and inclusion. I would like to thank you for collaborating with me on multiple professional development programs focused on community building and belonging. I always enjoy our conversations.

Dardan Shabani  (World Languages and Culture)

  • Professor Shabani is a very good teacher. He helped us understand the lessons by giving good and correct examples. He is also very helpful and respectful to everyone. He gave us more than one homework to help us learn English faster. At first, it was hard for students, but at the end of the semester, I thought it was a good idea. He is one of the teachers I am happy to know. Thank you very much for all his support and help!
  • I really learned a lot from Professor Dardana Shebani. He explains everything very clearly and teaches in a very good and easy way. He is one of the best professors I have ever had.
  • I would like to thank Professor Shabani for his fair treatment of students and his understanding. I really appreciate how clearly he explains the material and how he makes difficult topics easier to understand.

  • She has had a life-changing impact on my journey. Thanks to her guidance and knowledge, I am now a student at MCC, something I could not have achieved on my own. She supported me at every step and helped me understand the process clearly. There were moments when I felt overwhelmed and wanted to quit, but she believed in me and pushed me forward even more than I pushed myself. As a mom and an immigrant, her support, patience, and dedication mean a lot to me, and I will always be grateful.
  • Dear Katie, I would like to thank you for always being supportive and approachable. your guidance has made a big difference in my academic life. especially when I struggled with scheduling, registering, and time management. I appreciate your support and care for your students.
  • Katie Leite is always ready to answer any questions and explains information very clearly and in an easy way for international students to understand. She helped me understand the scholarship application process, which is very important for students.

  • I would like to thank Professor Crowley, Megan for her support and understanding in ESOL Class 100. I really appreciate the way she explains the material in a clear and helpful way.
