(TCC) Spring Conversation #1: Responding to Classroom Conflict and Promoting Classroom Community
The Teaching and Creativity Center's Conversation series resumes on Monday, February 23, from 12:00 PM to 12:50 PM, with Engaging What You Know: Responding to Classroom Conflict and Promoting Classroom Community.
This event is in-person only, in the TCC room on the Brighton Campus (12-201)
Faculty members and staff have experience, knowledge, and skills for promoting community and responding to conflict in the classroom. Sometimes our skills get rusty. Sometimes in the demands of the day and the emergence of new sources of conflict, we lose track of that knowledge and those skills.
This conversation is an opportunity for you to refresh your skills and knowledge, so you are ready to engage them when needed. We will discuss guidelines created by Cornell's Center for Teaching Innovation for responding to classroom conflict and disruption. You will have time to reflect on what you know and share with others.
All are welcome. Everyone has some expertise to share with others. Everyone has something to learn from someone else.
Bob Muhlnickel (ENG/PHL) will moderate this discussion.
The event is designed to meet the following goal of the Teaching and Creativity Center's programming:
- Goal 1: Create a culture of critical reflection, continual growth, and collaboration for faculty at all stages of professional growth
