Campus Wide Emergency Communication Drills
Please share with students:The Public Safety Department will be conducting a series of campus-wide emergency communication and lockdown drills to help prepare the college community for a potential emergency. These are planned drills only. During the drill, you will hear emergency notifications and we will be testing the RAVE Alert messaging system. There is no need to take protective action—please continue your normal class or work activities. Each drill is expected to last less than 10 minutes.
Prior to participating, we strongly encourage you to review the “Lockdown Training” and “Run, Hide, Fight” videos available on the Public Safety Department website.
As a reminder, in the event of an actual campus lockdown, the following actions are recommended:
- Evacuate the area if it is safe to do so. Move as far away from the threat as possible.
- Seek shelter immediately in the nearest secure location, out of sight. Encourage others to do the same.
- Secure the space by closing and locking doors. If possible, barricade the entrance. Turn off lights, silence your phone, and stay away from doors and windows.
- Remain in place unless directed otherwise by Public Safety or law enforcement, or if staying becomes unsafe.
- Stay informed by monitoring official communications from Public Safety, including MCC Alert (text/email), MCC Guardian, campus loudspeakers, and the College website.
The Brighton Campus Drill will be Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 9:30 am
The Downtown Campus Drill will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 2 pm.
