TCC: Kudos Gratitude Series (Day 9) Recognizing Faculty Impact Across Departments
Happy Friday! I would like to continue our kudos series by sharing messages of gratitude, celebration, and appreciation from students to faculty across various departments, including Criminology, Psychology, AHPSS (Anthropology, History, Political Science, and Sociology), and COS instructors. Thank you all for everything you do!
Jeffery Kester (Criminal Justice)
- Professor Kester went above and beyond to meet my accommodations this semester. He was kind and patient, and provided excellent feedback.
Jessica Strollo COS (College Orientation and Success Course)
- Professor Strollo is a great mentor, teacher and encourages. She made the class interesting and fun.
Joseph Scanlon (AHPSS)
- Kudos to Professor Joe Scanlon for being the person who pushed me to grow in ways I never thought possible. Before your classes I would tear myself apart whenever I was not perfect and I truly believed that every mistake meant I did not belong in the political science/international relations field. Through Model UN and your constant encouragement you helped me see that passion and effort matter far more than perfection and that I am capable of standing confidently in this field. You challenged me, believed in me, and reminded me that my voice has value. MCC is at its best in this department because of professors like you who bring out the potential in their students and make them feel seen. Thank you for being the most memorable teacher I have ever had and for changing the way I see myself and my future.
- P.S. Joe is my neighbor on my office floor—he works so hard!
Matt DellaPorta (Psychology)
- Dr. Matt has clearly put a lot of thought and effort into organizing PSY 101. I have never had a teacher that not only wanted the students to succeed, but also so systematically made a path for their success. He starts the semester with study tips that actually work. He begins each class with a schedule of his study review sessions and a sincere invitation to all students to come. Dr. Matt has a detailed study guide that the tests are based off of. Not only does this help with time management and test success, but it also makes it more likely we will remember what we have covered. He also makes memorable and creative PowerPoints and lectures with plenty of enthusiasm.
Michael Martella (Criminal Justice)
- I have had him for two semesters and he has always helped me when needed and always been very encouraging.
Patricia Kress (Psychology)
- Dr. Kress is incredibly likeable and a kind soul. I'm glad to know her!
A Student Message to TAAC
- Kristina from TAAC, she is very helpful and kind!
Christos Delmadoros, Benjamin Schermerhorn, Sadique Azwana, Marigh Haj
- Passionate and interesting philosophy way of teaching. Open about student opinions and very helpful, supportive
Professors Bridget, Peggy and David (Building 6 to Building 9)
- Thanks for having me! I appreciate your Kindness! you are all the best.
