Emerging Leaders Badge Program

The Emerging Leaders Badge Program is designed for students who want to strengthen their leadership skills, build their resumes, and grow in confidence. Through workshops, reflection, and community service, students will have the opportunity to explore their leadership identity, develop skills that transfer to the workplace, and make a positive impact on their communities. 

Faculty and staff are encouraged to share this opportunity with students who demonstrate leadership potential, participate in campus or community activities, or simply want to grow their confidence and leadership skills. Students do not need to have a leadership title or position to participate.  

To earn the badge, students will: 

  • Attend an introductory program meeting. 
  • Complete three of five leadership workshops offered throughout the academic year. 
  • Complete a written reflection on their leadership journey. 
  • Complete and document 10 hours of community service at an organization of their choice. 

The program is grounded in the 7 Cs of the Social Change Model of Leadership and focuses on ethical and inclusive leadership, self-awareness, personal values, and community impact. 

Students are invited to learn more about MCC’s Emerging Leaders Badge Program on Thursday, September 3, from 1pm to 2 pm in the Office of Student Life & Leadership Development (3-126). 

Presented in partnership with TAAC, this introductory event will help students learn how the Emerging Leaders Badge Program can support their personal, academic, and professional growth throughout the semester. Students attending the event will also receive a free planner and learn practical strategies for using it to set goals, stay organized, and set themselves up for success this semester.
