MCC Human Resources Leader Recognized as 2026 Rising Star Award Honoree

Monroe Community College is proud to celebrate Suzanne Bureau, who has been selected as a 2026 Rising Star Award Honoree by the Rochester Affiliate of the National Human Resources Association (NHRA).

The Rising Star Award recognizes emerging human resource professionals who demonstrate exceptional leadership, innovation, professionalism, and a strong commitment to advancing the HR profession. Suzanne’s selection as an honoree reflects the positive impact she continues to make through her dedication to employees, collaborative approach, and unwavering commitment to excellence in service to the MCC community.

Suzanne will be recognized at the 2026 HR Executive of the Year & Rising Star Awards Luncheon on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Monroe Golf Club. She will also participate in a special Honoree Meet & Greet event on June 9, where this year’s distinguished honorees from across the Greater Rochester region will gather to celebrate professional achievement and leadership in human resources.

“Suzanne’s recognition is incredibly well-deserved,” said Fernán R. Cepero, Executive Director of Human Resources & Organizational Development at MCC. “She exemplifies professionalism, compassion, integrity, and service leadership. Suzanne consistently demonstrates a deep commitment to supporting our employees and advancing the College's mission. We are tremendously proud to see her talents and contributions recognized by our professional HR community.”

As part of the selection process, NHRA’s awards committee interviewed Suzanne’s leadership regarding her accomplishments and contributions at MCC. The recognition highlights not only Suzanne’s professional growth but also the strength and excellence of MCC’s Human Resources team.

Please join us in congratulating Suzanne Bureau on this outstanding achievement and well-earned recognition.
