Pardon Our Disruption: MCC Downtown Campus Pedestrian Safety Improvement Project

The MCC Downtown Campus will soon begin a Pedestrian Safety Improvement Project at the intersection of Morrie Silver Way and North Plymouth Street.

This project includes the construction of curb bump-outs, reconstruction of curb ramps, installation of new pedestrian signals, and the addition of rectangular rapid flashing beacons, along with updated signage and pavement markings.

Mobilization has already begun, including the placement of signage and test pits for bore sampling. Construction begins Monday, April 13 through Thursday, May 28, 2026, weather permitting.

Impact to the College Community:
Crosswalk access will be affected during the duration of the project. Students, faculty, and staff parking in Lot AA will need to walk along the sidewalk on Morrie Silver Way toward Plymouth Street, cross Morrie Silver Way, and then proceed back toward the main building entrance.

The safety and well-being of our students and employees is our top priority. Please follow all posted construction signage directing pedestrian traffic to ensure safe access to campus.

We apologize for any disruption or inconvenience this project may cause and appreciate your patience and cooperation.

If you have any questions, please contact Toni Custodio at 585-292-2881.
