What are those flags in front of Building One?
Please share with students:You may have noticed on your way there is a flag display directly in front of building one. The display is there to honor April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
Every 68 seconds, someone in the US is sexually assaulted; that's 1,271 people every day. There are 1,271 flags to honor each person.
For Sexual Assault Awareness Month, MCC's Title IX has worked to develop different campaigns and events to meet the needs of students.
For the next two weeks, the Mercer Gallery is showing the What Were You Wearing exhibit. The exhibit displays outfits submitted by survivors of sexual violence with the hopes of challenging the myth that wearing certain clothing makes you susceptible to sexual assault. Stop by the exhibit to honor victims and share your thoughts.
On April 29th, the Title IX office is celebrating Denim Day in Deja Brew. Come to our table to play a game and win a cool Denim Jacket.
On April 30th, we are welcoming Briana Hansen to campus for her Feeling Risky program in 8-300 at 5:30pm. We will be giving out Amazon gift cards.
Finally, for the rest of the month, Deja Brew will be using coffee sleeves that remind us to practice consent!
Thank you for your support!
