Week of the Young Child

Please share with students:

The child care center will celebrate NAEYC’S annual Week of the Young Child April 13 to April 17.  Child care centers all over the nation will participate in this weeklong event! The purpose of the Week of the Young Child is to bring focus and attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.

This year we are basing our theme days on books written by Mo Willems.

The children will read a different story each day and participate in a fun activity with themes such as Music Monday, Artsy Tuesday, Work Together Wednesday, Tasty Thursday and Family Friday!  Be on the look out for our exciting “Book Walk” to be displayed on campus and also our Art Show work to be hung in building 4 later this month. This April also celebrates the 35th anniversary of the Richard M. Guon Child Care Center!

The center serves children from 6 weeks through 5 years old. Our mission is to promote the academic and/or career endeavors of our families by providing high quality childcare in a nurturing, secure environment, which is developmentally stimulating.  Parents can attend class, study and work without worrying about their child’s well-being. The center is a nationally accredited program under NAEYC, National Association of Education of Young Children.
