Student Government Association (SGA) Public Meeting Structure
Please share with students:Welcome back, everyone! We hope you enjoyed a restful and rejuvenating summer break. We are excited to begin this new year with you and look forward to working together in the weeks ahead.
We would like to invite everyone to attend the weekly Student Government Association meetings.
The SGA purpose is part of MCC’s shared governance. The SGA is the governing body for all student attending MCC. It shall promote and implement the objectives set forth in the Constitution. We welcome you to register to speak to the senate at any time.
To ensure that the official business of the Senate is conducted in a timely and organized manner, we have outlined the steps to attend the meetings. We aim to foster an environment that is welcoming, productive, and respectful of everyone’s time.
Below are the outlined steps
- Please see the agenda structure for the first Fall Public SGA meeting taking place on September 8, 2026. All SGA public meetings are on Tuesday’s at 2:15pm in the Forum, Building 3-130 on the Brighton campus, in room 200B on the Downtown campus or on Zoom.
- If you are interested in speaking during the “Speak to the Senate” portion of the meeting, please register one week prior to the weekly meetings, no later than 5:00pm, with your name and written testimony of what you are planning to speak about. Please fill out the form below.
- Register to Speak to the Senate.
- Speaker testimonies (written) will be collected and made available upon request.
- Speakers will indicate whether they plan to attend in person or via Zoom to provide appropriate links to the meeting.
- The speaker will have 3 minutes to speak; afterward, the Student Government Association meeting chair may ask questions.
